Well, folks -- here goes. Simon and Kaylee are about to move out, and it's time for IC goodbyes.

We've got a post set up here for people to interact. It's the docks at Logan City; there may be cargo loading or unloading, or any other usual port-of-call business, going on at the same time, or not. As per usual with scenes like this, there can be as much or as little multi-pup interaction as we want / have time for.

What we'd really like is to have the departure ready to post over MLK weekend.

So: who wants to just tag in to establish presence, who is okay with their pup's presence being handwaved (or with their pup being specifically absent for some reason), and who wants an actual thread with Simon and/or Kaylee? Anyone in the final group should tag in ASAP, so threads can start tonight if possible. Regardless, please reply here to let us know what's good -- and to let us know you've seen this.

Hey everyone,

I've been meaning to post this, and forgetting. But as a minor FYI, tomorrow (August 9) is River's birthday. She'll be 22.

I probably won't be around online tomorrow, and in any case I hadn't planned to try to play out much. I'm figuring to handwave some level of marking of the occasion, presumably a few gifts, and no major festivities? Especially considering that this is right around at least one very much less happy occasion. If you want to play out anything, or think your character would do anything specific that you feel like mentioning for handwaving purposes, though, I'm totally up for that. :)

Inara's birthday

So Steph and I realized that we have never done anything for Inara's birthday in bar before. Probably because while I knew she was a Cancer, I was a bit hazy on her actual date of birth.

So we have one now! July 20th, which is this Saturday.

Since this is too late to plan anything for this weekend (though if I'm home I'm gonna throw her in bar), we decided Mal is going to throw her a party NEXT Saturday, the 26th. He's going to rent out the brothel and have a shindig! :D

So either Steph or I is going to make a post in the brothel comm for partyness, and Mal's going to be running around the bar for prep reasons. I hope your pups can all make it!

I mentioned this as upcoming in Mu Ji's status thread, but so everyone knows, as of Sunday (a couple of days after this OOM) Kate and Piotr are both on Shadow rather than Serenity.

The general reasons they'd have said would be a change of scene, a visit to a pretty planet, and a chance to think about some things related to their world, plus the fact that farms or ranches are always going to make Piotr go :D!. If you think your character would or should know more details about what exactly needs thinking about, feel free to ask, naturally.

Hey, all! This is a question partly on Stitch-mun's behalf.

Stitch has now made friends with River, and met Simon, and met... at least one other crew member, I think, but I can't remember who. (Plus both temporarily resident X-Men.) Anyway, the mun is interested in having Stitch visit Serenity sometime. Mostly because it would be hilarious, and that is a reason I respect! Assuming IC justification for it. Which, well, if Mal was okay with it, River would totally invite him over. (But only if Mal was okay with it. Captain's perogative, there.)

Does anyone have any objections or wishes or particular dates/times that would be good or bad? This is a brainstorming/request kind of thing, and no major plot with deep emotional investment, so please chime in. :)

This post is open for anyone and everyone conceivably onship in FFverse that requires a Mal thread. Due to various personal and/or health reasons that are developing, it's harder for me to stay on very late at night, and I am trying to be available. :D Tag whenever -- I'd like to post threads all at once, but if one or two end up out-tagging the others in terms of length, I'll post them piecemeal.

Also? This includes waves, if we want to work it that way for any Mal-Demon or -Tianshi or -Gabe or -Regan. You get the idea.

So I was thinking it could be fun to have a little, fun crew thread before Millicon and I wanted to see if anyone was interested.

I was thinking a dinner on Serenity, loose organization. Basically have the dinner table there and people can have conversations in subthreads that others can interrupt, like a normal dinner, Naomi can throw food, etc. Just something light and fun.

Anyone interested?

Hey guys,
I screwed up. I didn't understand how Steph being away affected Mal and I posted that OOM in the understanding that Mal and Inara had been gone since Steph had left. I'm a royal idiot.

Okay, now that Steph has cleared things up, Mal and Inara left on Monday, the 12th and will be back on Friday, the 22nd. Let me know if this doesn't work and I can change things.

Again, I'm so sorry. I truly wasn't trying to make trouble, I was trying to help!!! I hope you all don't hate me.

Inara ducks through the heavy curtains hiding the shuttle's flight control - it was the only place Inara could think she'd've left it. She normally keeps what tools don't belong to Kaylee under the wheel.

The first place Mal decided to search was his bunk. If anything was vital to life as captain, it usually wound up stored in his bunk eventually. He almost falls down the ladder to search faster, more urgently.

Upturned blankets and books later, Mal's frustration comes through loud and clear on the comm: "Where the ruttin' hell is it? What do I pay you people for?"
